A strategic logistics powerhouse emerges in Viviez

Chronopost is making a substantial investment in Southwest France, with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art logistics agency in Viviez, near Decazeville in the Occitanie region.

This significant development, slated for opening in March 2026, underscores the increasing attractiveness of the region for businesses seeking robust and strategically located distribution infrastructure.

The new facility, costing €6.8 million, signals a burgeoning opportunity for companies looking to establish or expand their presence in this dynamic area.

Advanced features for diverse business needs

Spanning approximately 6,200 square meters, this modern logistics hub is designed to handle high volumes, with an initial processing capacity of 4,500 parcels per day, scalable to 6,500 during peak seasons. A key highlight for businesses with specific storage requirements is the inclusion of two dedicated cold rooms, totaling 400 square meters.

These specialized facilities cater specifically to temperature-sensitive goods, supporting activities such as Chronofresh (food products) and Chronopost Healthcare (thermo-sensitive medicines). This specialized infrastructure makes the Viviez site particularly appealing for companies in the food, pharmaceutical, and other temperature-controlled logistics sectors.

Sustainable design meets high performance

Developed by Groupe Bleu Mercure, the Chronopost agency is not only high-capacity but also highly sustainable. The building adheres to the stringent French environmental standard RE2020 and is targeting a "Very good" BREEAM certification, demonstrating a commitment to energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Furthermore, 30% of the roof will be covered with photovoltaic solar panels, contributing to green energy production and lowering operational costs. For businesses prioritizing eco-responsible operations, this facility sets a benchmark for modern, environmentally conscious industrial properties.

Economic growth and future opportunities in Occitanie

Beyond its logistical prowess, this project is poised to be a significant economic driver for the Aveyron department and the wider Occitanie region, creating approximately 50 direct and indirect jobs.

This job creation reflects a growing and active economic environment, making Viviez an increasingly attractive location for businesses seeking to leverage a skilled workforce and a supportive regional ecosystem.

As this major logistics hub comes online, it enhances the overall supply chain capabilities of Southwest France, presenting new avenues for businesses to optimize their distribution networks and reach a broader market.
