Nîmes: a new strategic and eco-responsible warehouse is born

In a context of strong demand growth, DACHSER is continuing its development in France with the opening of a state-of-the-art logistics warehouse in Nîmes.

This new BREEAM Very Good certified site supports flows between southern Europe and the Maghreb, while integrating strong commitments in terms of environmental performance.

A strategic link between Europe and North Africa

DACHSER, an international player in transport and logistics, has inaugurated a new logistics site in Nîmes (30), in the heart of the Grezan area. This establishment responds to the sustained growth of activity in the region, particularly on the South-Europe / Maghreb axis, and completes the existing network of the four transport agencies in the Languedoc. "The new DACHSER logistics site in Nîmes has just opened to meet customer demands in the south of France, one of the main crossroads between southern Europe and the Maghreb," explains Murat Kayki, General Manager Languedoc-Roussillon.
With this new facility, DACHSER increases its regional storage capacity to 48,000 m², between Montpellier and Marseille. The Nîmes site has a 12,000 m² warehouse with 14 docks, capable of storing up to 19,000 pallets of goods, mainly in the food, DIY and gardening sectors.

A modern building committed to the environment

The new logistics platform is characterised by its sustainable design. With a total area of 32,000 m², the warehouse has obtained BREEAM Very Good certification, a guarantee of environmental performance. It is equipped with LED lighting, photovoltaic panels and infrastructure to reduce energy consumption as much as possible.

A team on a human scale, in development

Currently composed of about ten employees, the site plans to increase its workforce with a dozen recruitments to come: team leaders, forklift operators, order pickers, and logistics experts. A team of six specialists already supports clients in their outsourcing projects, in a process of innovation and continuous improvement.
